We're expecting more news about The Phantom Pain this week, as Konami is preparing a new, Mother Base-themed gameplay trailer for Gamescom to be released on August 5. In other PC news, Konami and Nvidia have teamed up to give away copies of The Phantom Pain with the purchase of select GPUs. "However from all accounts, the basic performance should be to par." "While we can't confirm official support by launch, we're looking into this for post-launch patches if necessary," Konami said. One thing that's not locked down, however, is Windows 10 support.

Konami also writes on the game's Steam page that The Phantom Pain for PC will have more graphics options than Ground Zeroes and will support Steam trading cards, as well as custom soundtracks. The PC edition of The Phantom Pain supports resolution up to 4K.

They'll also get a "Venom Snake" emblem and something called the Mother Base Staff DLC. On top of that, everyone who buys the PC edition-not just preorders it-will receive a behind-the-scenes collector's video and documentary. The Japanese publisher also announced today that everyone who preorders The Phantom Pain on Steam will receive the 2014 prologue, Ground Zeroes, for free. "We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers," Konami president Tomotada Tashiro said in a statement. First, the game's release date has been moved up, from September 15 to September 1, to match the console release date. Konami had some big news to share today regarding the PC edition of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Konami has also announced that Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer mode for The Phantom Pain, will not be available at launch.
